Hi there. This is my first blog so be kind! Wanted to create a blog on fashion that doesn't start and end on the catwalk. As a design student, I understand that the future of the industry lies with us, the new generation and that's why I wanted to share my thoughts of future fashion.
So..... futuristic. You think we'll be able to make clothes so quickly and cheaply you can dispose of them daily? That could mean Primark and nothing else (yuk)! No. My views are going back in time, funnily enough, to slow fashion. Where people love their clothes and don't just use them for the public paparazzi of facebook, buying new outfits everyday so their facebook pictures won’t show an outfit worn twice in one week! Not quite sure why everyone wants that sort of celebrity lifestyle so bad? Wouldn't it be nice to give your grandchild a vintage item of clothing, treasured through your life. Something that you represented not represented you.
Just think we should be changing the face of fashion. Treating it like art. Would you through away a painting?
Ps. Sorry to be so hypocritical about facebook, when I’m blogging and do indeed have a facebook account. However I haven’t gone crazy on it yet, documenting what time I go for a s..t and where I’m going to be tonight! Baaa humbug, I know, sorry and ciao x
